Janelle Jensen, Stylist

When and why did you join S&D?

I joined Stella & Dot in June 2015. Why I joined is not earth shattering...it's what we preach:  flexibility and the opportunity to be your own boss! I was at a crossroad in my life where I wanted to have a more flexible job with my kids schedules getting busier and because I wasn't feeling fulfilled at work. I came from corporate retail where I had been for over 10 years and knew it was time to make a change. I had been a long time customer, a Hostess, and had looked into becoming a Stylist before but now was the right time. I actually started while still working full time in the corporate world and absolutely fell in love with Styling! I have an amazing support system at home and the best Upline Sponser (Kelly Miller :) anyone could ask for. I also felt the risk wasn't scary, signing up for $199 and get free product, win win! The rewards that have followed have been unbelievable! Joining Stella & Dot has been hands down THE best decision I have ever made. I love what I do even more because it allows me to be more present in my kids lives and still allows me to grow as a business owner and fuel my passion for fashion. I feel completely fulfilled, empowered and motivated.  It has been life changing I feel like I am a better mom, wife and person!  I remember turning to my husband one night and saying, "This is was happy feels like.

What significant life changes happened to you because of S&D?

I was able to quit my full-time job in corporate retail and be a mom that works rather than a working mom! Best decision I've ever made! I'm able to be home with my kiddos while staying connected to my passion in fashion and have a sense of empowerment running my own business.

What is your favorite Stella & Dot memory?

That's a tough one...My first time hitting my goal of $5k PQV, seeing the work I put in pay off was awesome while still being able to have the flexibility at home! Having that feeling of, "Wow, I did it!" This has been pushing me to set even higher goals.

Another memory was when my daughter who had been watching me prep for trunk shows came into my room while I was getting ready for a date night and she insisted on styling me. It was the cutest thing...she picked out my outfit then said, "Ok now it's time to style you with my beautiful jewels!" Anyway, it melted my heart because she watches what I do and loves it as much as I do!

What is your best advice to give to someone considering becoming a Stylist?

You won't regret it! It truly is whatever you make of it which is the beauty of it. Low risk, HIGH rewards!! Not just in product and incentives, but mainly the community you're connected to of strong, intelligent, driven, empowering women both within your immediate team and our Home Office Leadership Team. I feel motivated, inspired and connected everyday!

What are your goals for S&D in 2016?

To keep pushing myself beyond my comfort zone, pay for a family trip to Disneyland and to get promoted to Star Stylist!
